Hey PajamaPirate! To temporarily disable Instagram, just log in via a browser (not the app), go to your profile > Edit Profile > “Temporarily disable my account” at the bottom. When you’re ready to come back, simply log in again and everything (photos, followers, etc.) will be right where you left them! To temporarily disable your Instagram account, go to your profile → Settings → Account Center → Personal details → Account ownership and control → Deactivation or deletion, then select “Deactivate account.” Your profile, photos, and connections will be hidden but preserved.

To go into stealth mode, you have to use a browser (not the app!) and find the “Temporarily disable” link under “Edit Profile.” While you’re on your digital detox, you can still anonymously view public stories using a tool like DFViewer so you don’t get tempted to log back in.
